Summer Student - Museum Tour Guide (Full-time)

    • Students enrolled in or that have recently graduated from a full-time recognized college or university program are encouraged to apply.

    • The following areas of study and/or experience are preferred: Museum Studies, Drama, Education, Tourism, History, and Canadian Studies.

    • Ability to communicate and engage effectively verbally and in writing with all age groups.

    • While bilingualism is an asset, applicants that are bilingual will be preferred.

    • Experience in guiding tours, working with children/groups, education, are assets.

    • Experience in retail sales, customer service, public speaking are assets.

    • Excellent organisational and time management skills.

    • Basic knowledge of the history of 14 Wing Greenwood, the Canadian Armed Forces or the Royal Canadian Air Force are assets.

  • The Museum Assistant will be trained to take on several tasks throughout the Museum with ample opportunity for projects based on personalised interests (for example, designing your own tours, activities, social media, retail displays, and aircraft Maintenance and care etc.) The following responsibilities, however, are core to the Museum Assistant position:

    • develop personalized tour

    • conduct tours, when assigned or requested by visitors.

    • coordinate tours, visits and other activities as required by the Manager:

    • familiarization with museum collection and Museum operations.

    • ensure the safety, security, and cleanliness of Museum areas, artifacts, and equipment.

    • promptly report problems, damage, emergencies or other concerns to the Manager.

    • assist in opening/closing the Museum, preparing exhibits for visitors; and

    • maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times.

    Scheduled Hours are based on activities such as scheduled tours and other museum requirements but expect 35 hours per week between 9:30am and 4:30pm on Tuesday thru Saturday.

    Opportunity is from 15 May 2026 until 31 August 2026.
